ABC Trade & Investments (Pvt) Ltd (since 1997) is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Import Officer with strong knowledge of import procedures, shipping documentation, and coordination with suppliers and clearing agents.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle import documentation and coordinate import shipments
- Communicate with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders and clearing agents
- Prepare and verify invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and other import-related documents
- Coordinate with the Accounts Division regarding Letters of Credit (LCs), payments and import-related documentation
- Monitor shipment schedules and ensure timely clearance and delivery of goods
- Coordinate with the Accounts, Stores and relevant departments regarding import shipments
- Maintain accurate records of import transactions and shipping documents
- Follow up on customs clearance, freight charges and other import-related expenses
Qualifications & Requirements
- G.C.E. Advanced Level qualification
- A diploma or professional qualification in Import & Export, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field will be an added advantage
- Minimum 1 year of experience in import operations or a similar role
- Knowledge of import procedures and shipping documentation
- Good communication, coordination and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Computer literacy, including MS Office
- Good command of English, both written and spoken
