KIU Sri Lanka is looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Finance Officer to support the day-to-day financial operations of the university. Key Responsibilities
- Support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to assist future financial decision-making and ensure sustainable institutional growth
- Prepare management reports, financial analyses, and performance summaries to support strategic planning and informed decision-making
- Monitor and manage cash flow, financial controls, and resource utilization to maintain operational efficiency and financial stability
- Oversee student revenue administration, including fee collections, receivables monitoring, and income trend analysis
- Support cost control initiatives and operational finance activities by reviewing expenditures and identifying opportunities for financial efficiency
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and audit processes through accurate documentation and timely reporting
- Utilize and improve financial systems, data management, and reporting processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and decision-support capabilities
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Management OR Part qualification in a recognized professional body such as CIMA, ACCA, or CA Sri Lanka
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar finance/accounting role
- Experience in the higher education sector will be an added advantage
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial modeling
- Familiarity with ERP systems, accounting software, and financial reporting tools
- Ability to prepare and interpret budgets, forecasts, cash flow reports, and variance analyses
- Sound understanding of financial controls, compliance, and management reporting
- Personal attributes: strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Personal attributes: ability to interpret financial data and provide practical recommendations to management
- Personal attributes: high level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
