Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) laws, regulations, and company standards.
- Drive and promote a strong safety culture across the organization.
- Conduct site safety inspections, audits, risk assessments, and safety observations.
- Identify hazards and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, training, and emergency drills.
- Monitor PPE usage and workplace safety standards.
- Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near misses, including root-cause analysis.
- Monitor and ensure subcontractor safety compliance.
- Maintain HSE documentation, policies, procedures, JSA, risk assessments, and certifications.
- Coordinate fire safety, first aid, emergency response, and evacuation procedures.
- Monitor environmental and waste-management compliance.
- Prepare HSE reports and recommendations for management and support continuous safety improvement.
- Able to travel islandwide.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health (OSH); NEBOSH is an added advantage.
- 2–3 years of experience in the construction/engineering industry.
- Knowledge of HSE legislation, standards, and regulations.
- Strong skills in risk assessment and incident investigation.
- Good communication and safety training skills.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze safety data and identify improvement areas.
- Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
