Accounts Assistant

• Accounts Payable: Prepare supplier payments and maintain the Accounts Payable module.
• Reporting: Assist in preparing accurate and timely management accounts and financial reports.
• Banking: Coordinate with company bankers when required and prepare bank reconciliations.
• Reconciliations: Perform general ledger reconciliations and other account reconciliations.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure accuracy of financial records, maintain proper documentation, and ensure compliance with SLFRS / LKAS and internal control procedures.
• Taxation: Assist in tax computations and statutory filings, including VAT, SSCL, WHT, and CIT.
• Budgeting: Support budgeting, forecasting, and budget vs. actual variance analysis.
• Audit Support: Support external and internal audit activities by coordinating with auditors.
• Systems: Utilize ERP systems (SAP or similar) for reporting, analysis, and data management.

Qualifications

• Professional: Currently following CA Sri Lanka examinations.
• Academic: Bachelor's degree or undergraduate qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management from a recognized university (added advantage).
• Experience: Minimum 1–2 years' experience in a finance or accounting role. Prior experience in a payables-related role is preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Basic knowledge of SLFRS / LKAS and Sri Lankan taxation (VAT, SSCL, WHT, APIT, and CIT).
• Systems: Experience working in a computerized accounting environment; exposure to SAP ERP is an added advantage.
